Job Summary

This placement will give a great commercial and professional experience in Server Engineering within the Webhosting Industry. The successful candidate will be working in a small company alongside 4 other Engineers who are all eager to share their knowledge and to encourage and nurture self development. Reporting to the Head of IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Helpdesk team
  • Provide sound second and third level support to clients
  • Build servers from components when required
  • Taking Care of Administration duties for the Head of IT Department
  • Taking care of the department's purchase order processing
  • Ordering of Hardware and software equipment
  • Taking care of all Deliveries of orders purchases
  • Keeping an inventory of all stock, Hardware and Software
  • Keeping an inventory of all stock, Hardware and Software
  • Keeping track of all personal records within the department
  • Keeping your Line Manager and HR Department informed of any sick days and holidays taken

Basic Skills

  • MUST have a valid drivers licence
  • Good verbal and written English
  • Good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Linux Systems
  • Networking skills (preferable Cisco oriented)
  • Knowledge of server hardware
  • Good service orientation
  • Good documentation ability
  • Specify new hardware needs
