Why would I need a dedicated server?

Greetings!
We are often asked questions like that - “Do I need a dedicated server for this site?”, “what is the advantages and disadvantages of having my own dedicated server” and “Would my site be faster on a dedicated server?” etc. etc.

I thought I’d sum up a bit on the typical answers to those questions, and outline a few typical situation where you may want to go for dedicated hosting rather than shared - UK2 provide both dedicated servers and shared hosting, but I will try not to be too “salesy” :) (more…)

Quantum Computers

For many of you this will probably bring back memories of a certain early 90’s TV show (well, quantum leaping at least), but Quantum Physics as a theory has been around for a very long time (since the turn of the 20th century) and the theory of parallel universes may not be as fictional as you might think… I’m sure I’ll be corrected on this but here goes on a gross oversimplification of quantum theory as I understand it;
