I’m not a fan of resolutions as they end up being vague and I normally give up after a couple of months. Instead in 2008 I decided to set myself a goal, something I wanted to achieve by the end of the year.

For the second Christmas running UK2 took over Somerset House ice skating rink, 30 of us took to the ice for some Ice Skating fun!

Everyone fell into 1 of two categories, those that can and those that can’t. I am pleased to say that I fell in to the ‘those that can’ camp, this did not seem to be the case for a lot of my lovely UK2 collegues!

There is nothing like a bit of group bonding to break down a few barriers, and as there has been a few new starters at UK2 in recent weeks, we thought it was about time that we rallied the troops and added a bit of fun into an otherwise busy UK2 office.

Please put your hands together for the first of many UK2 Wii Tournaments. Each department will play each other at various Wii games the first of which is ‘Tennis’.

This tournament did start off as a bit of fun, but since sending round the staff newsletter each department has got a just a wee bit competitive……team names, pom poms, Nick names, I wouldn’t be surprised if I see some teams donning costumes!

As part of the celebrations in the run up to Christmas, UK2 is always very nice to its employees.

Last night was no exception as members of the marketing and sales department, and our honorary marketeer/teaboy Paul, were treated to an evening of ice skating at the beautiful Somerset House. Since I helped to organise and plan the evening, it was suggested that I should write a blog about it today.

However, being one of the designers at UK2, and passionate about photography, means I am a bit more visually inclined so I have decided to forego the usual journalistic type account and just show you the evening in pictures. Here then, are all the thrills (who knew that so many people at UK2 were closet figure skaters?) , spills (and boy were there a lot of those!), laughs and tearjerking moments.

… even though we didn’t win an award.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the award we wanted at the PC Pro event last night, but it was an amazing evening and everyone at UK2 had a fab time.

We all met in Bar 190 in South Kensington, and I think you’ll agree we looked the part - kitted out in our best frocks and tuxedos!
