The UK2 Group is pleased to announce that it is a founding member of the Internet Infrastructure Coalition, or i2Coalition, which launched today. i2Coalition is a group committed to supporting private investors who help to maintain the ‘nuts and bolts’ of the Internet, ensuring continuing growth in online industries. Over 40 companies have helped found the organisation, including infrastructure providers and tech firms.
The idea for the i2Coalition came about when various companies worked together to campaign successfully against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA). The i2Coalition will continue to work in promoting public policies that support growth in Internet infrastructure and educating people about the need for policy that supports online growth.
Along with our fellow i2Coalition members, UK2 supports the needs of the Internet infrastructure industry to develop market-based standards to drive innovation, and we intend to be a unified voice for public policy advocacy and education for the industry.
