Merry Christmas From UK2!
We’d like to take a moment to give thanks…
2015 has been a great year for us, and as we are tucking into our gigantic turkey dinners today we would like to take some time out to give thanks. It is our blog readers and our loyal customers – not to mention some pretty decent staff – who make UK2 great, and we’re looking forward to empowering your online projects through 2016 and beyond.
Whether you’ll be celebrating Christmas or not, the Holidays are a time to reflect on the year and get some well-deserved rest. The festive spirit is strong in our office, and thanks to secret santa we’re all heading home with at least one present this year. There are a few of us, however, who have swapped out the Christmas spirit in favour of the Force; being a tech company we’ve been waiting for the new Star Wars film for almost 10 years, so many of us have been more excited to visit a galaxy far, far away than for a visit from Rudolph and friends.
For those of you who have been running a business in 2015, congratulations! You made it to the end of the year. Now it’s time to look back and review all that you’ve achieved over the year. Keep an eye on the UK2 Blog over the coming week for our end-of-year checklist series which will give you tips and tricks on your New Year’s housekeeping duties.
This year has been a big one for UK2, with the launch of our Premium WordPress Hosting, Website SEO Guru and our partnership with CloudFlare. We also teamed up with SiteLock to make sure that your sites run smoothly and are safe from malicious online attacks; we’ve got your back in any online situation. Finally we revamped our website builder tool, in accordance with the manic rise in mobile internet use. Nowadays even Google will penalise your website if it’s not mobile-ready, so we built responsive design into our website builder to make sure your site looks great on any device.
This year also saw a few domain name milestones, as gTLDs such as .xyz, .top and .online broke registration records and became hugely popular. Even Google got their own gTLD, parking their new parent company Alphabet at the domain name abc.xyz. This global recognition did wonders for the world of gTLDs, which have been slow to hit the mainstream. You can grab your very own domain name here.
It may be Christmas Day, but there’s no closing for business in the digital sphere. You can still grab one of our Christmas Offers online now over on our website. We’re also giving away an entertainment system worth £1000 with our Christmas competition, which you can enter here for free!
From everyone here at UK2, we wish you a happy and healthy 2016 and hope you’re celebrating in style wherever you may be. Merry Christmas!
