The UK2 Group is proud to announce that they have officially reached and surpassed one million registered domains across the group which includes a number of well-known web hosting companies in the USA and UK.
The 1,000,000-domain-name mark was accomplished through a consistent stream of domain name sales through the family of hosting companies including UK2.net, VPS.net, Resell.biz, WestHost, midPhase, AN Hosting, another.com and 100TB.com.
“This is a significant achievement which underpins our status as a reliable, affordable and innovative web hosting company,” said Phil Male, CEO of UK2Group.
ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, has confirmed there have been over 2 billion active internet users worldwide in the past 13 years, including 1.5 billion domain names registered since 1985, which makes the UK2 Group’s milestone achievement an important barometer in measuring business activity online.
“Exceeding one million domain registrations is based on a broad and powerful range of services we offer in conjunction with a domain name purchase. These include, but are not limited to: Shared Hosting, Dedicated Servers, Colocated Servers, VPS, Cloud Servers, Content Delivery Networks and a wide range of business collaboration and website building tools,” said Jeff Hunsaker, President of US Operations for UK2 Group.
The UK2 Group will also be at the forefront of offering what may be the next great gold rush in business branding: A new set of ICANN domain extensions that will allow Internet users to create their own extensions including city names like .London or company names like .Apple.
“These custom branded and generic domains names will start becoming available early next year and will especially appeal to large enterprises who seek to entrench and extend their marketing appeal,” said Mr. Hunsaker.
