Who cares about Britain’s Got The Diving X Factor On Ice? This spring, UK2 becomes a new champion for British talent…
Move over Simon Cowell. From this Spring, up-and-coming artists will have a new supporter on their side. In May, UK2.net will become an official promoter of national talent, when it sponsors the UK’s first ever edible book launch.
The book in question is Love and Eskimo Snow, the first novel of UK2 staff writer Sarah Holt. The novel is an inverted Cinderella story, about the nature of love, how it’s never the same twice, and whether you can love more than one person at the same time. The title comes from the myth that Sami Eskimos have more than 200 different ways to describe snow. The idea is that love should be defined in as many ways.
The edible bit of the book launch is the creation of Edible Stories, a cutting-edge experiential dining company from central London. Their plan for the launch party is set to blow book launches as the UK knows them out of the water. For the launch of Love and Eskimo Snow, Edible Stories creator Chloé Morris, will be recreating key chapters and themes in the novel using nothing else but set design, food, and drinks. It’ll be the gastronomic equivalent of a book reading.
The chef for the evening will be Francoise Cozzolino, a Paris-born Italian-German professional chef who spent three years working with Pierre Koffman, the chef with three Michelin stars.
The event will take place on Sunday May 25 at Boxpark in Shoreditch – a venue chosen because it’s the epicentre for next-generation talent in London. The experience will play out during a series of six courses of cocktails, food and interaction. We don’t want to give too much away, but the courses include things like a bitter cocktail, which represents a stage in the book when a diary is read without permission.
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £57.50, which includes wine. There is limited availability for this one-of-a-kind event, so book quickly to save your seat.
