Warning to all customers receiving fraudulent/dodgy/scam renewal Or account update notifications

September 24th, 2007 by

Dear all UK2 Customers

It has been brought to our attention that there are scam renewal emails sent out our Customers which request you to renew your services and update your card/account details.

Some “Scammer” is sending out these notifications via emails and letters.

We want to warn each and every customer of UK2 NOT to act to these emails and letters as it’s a Scam/Fraud.

Some of you might be familiar with the similar problem of customers receiving renewal notifications form “The Domain Registry of America”. For more information about “The Domain Registry of America” you can find everything you need by searching for them on google.

Do NOT renew or update any account details when you receive information from “The Domain Registry of America” OR someone claiming to be Michael Fisher or any such associated emails/letters.

If you come across any of such notifications, please delete them as soon as possible and contact us immediately to confirm your account status.

These notifications are sent out with incorrect information about your domain or email account and they request you to provide them with your current host (which is UK2) and also ask for your password. If you provide them with this information they will log into your account via the control panel and change all your account details and move your domain, take ownership of your domain, etc.

Below is a real example of an email we have been informed about today:
