Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to have Web Hosting as well as the E-commerce package?
- No, the UK2 E-commerce package comes with its own hosting included.
- Can I have the shop located on my domain instead of a subdomain?
- If you want to have your E-commerce package without your subdomain of choice (e.g. to have it as mydomain.com instead of shop.mydomain.com) then you can either purchase the UK2 full webdiversion (£11.99 / year) or if you have webspace you can use this to redirect or simply use as your home page.
- Do customers have to create an account before they can check out?
- No you can select not to force them to create an account if desired, and you can even change the payment options to allow them to phone, fax or e-mail you to complete the order rather than taking payment over the web.
- How many products and pages can I create?
- Our E-commerce package is unlimited, you can add as many as you like.
- Can I make it look how I want?
- Yes you can make it look any way you want as you have the ability to fully change the layout and colours, upload your own logo's and photo's and create your own customised templates.
- What if my domain is already registered but not with UK2?

If your domain registration is not handled by us you have two choices - the easiest way is to move the domain in first and then place the order for the E-commerce package. You can find out how to transfer your domain here. If you don't wish to transfer your domain fully you can place what is known as a 'hosting' only order where we can provide services for your domain without handling the registration.
Once you've ordered the hosting (by going through the normal domain order process) you'll need to edit your DNS entries with the company that handles your registration before your e-commerce will work properly. you can do this either by changing the nameservers to ours or by pointing any e-commerce requests to the us, this is covered in our 'getting started' guide so don't worry if you're not sure how to do this.
- Does the cart come with SSL security?
- The E-commerce package is capable of handling SSL, however due to the setup of the server it's hosted on, we recommend that you use your payment providers SSL certificate for secure transactions.
