Hi all,
It seems that we’ve caused a little bit of confusion after launching our new control panel, as at log in it asks for a username and password, and some of you have been wondering “What’s my UK2 username?!”
Previously customers could log in with a choice of account name, domain name, server number or @UK2 email address and the associated password (s), which is quite a lot of options and information to remember. We have tried to simplify the process of logging in, so please bear with us, and have a read of the tips below to help you on your way.
All UK2 customers have a username, but it was previously called account name, and it was automatically generated based on your email address for example: firstname.lastname@uk2.net/1
With the launch of our new control panel we are letting both existing and new customers choose their username, so that it is easy to remember and a single way of logging in for customers who have a range of domains and hosting services
To find out what your username currently is, you’ll need to get to your account via the the old control panel. To do this go to the Old Control Panel , then log in using account name, domain name, server number or @UK2 email address and associated password, like you used to do before
When you have logged in, in the header it will say “You are logged in as xxxxx” this is your current UK2 username
But don’t forget – when you log into the New Control Panel for the first time with this username and password, you will then be able to choose a brand new, memorablt username of your choice, for your future use.
I hope this helps!
Bye for now
Nicola
