What is Launch by UK2?
Launch by UK2 is a website builder you talk to. Instead of dragging boxes around a template, you tell it about your business, and it plans, designs and builds a working website for you.
It’s built for people who want a professional website without learning web design: sole traders, freelancers, small businesses, and anyone with an idea they want online.
How it works
- You describe what you want. Your business, what you do, the look you’d like and the pages you need. Type it, or say it out loud.
- It plans the work. If you choose Plan, it shows you exactly what it’s going to build and waits for your OK.
- It builds your website. Pages, text, images, and anything extra you asked for, like a contact form or a booking system.
- It checks its own work. For example, it fills in your contact form to make sure it works, and looks at your website on a phone screen.
- It tells you what it’s done. Including anything it filled in with example text, so you know what to swap for your real details.
You can then ask for changes in plain English, or make small edits yourself. Nobody else can see your website until you publish it, unless you share a preview link with them.
Try it free for 30 days
You can try Launch by UK2 free for 30 days, with no card needed. It’s the full builder, so you can see exactly what it can do for your business before you pay anything.
What’s included in the trial
| Free trial | |
| Length | 30 days |
| Credits | 500,000 |
| Websites | 1 |
| Card needed? | No |
| Build and preview | Yes, as much as you like |
| Publish your website | Needs a plan |
| Support | 24/7 live chat |
Going live during your trial
You can build and preview your website as much as you like during the trial. When you’re ready for the world to see it, choose a plan in your Control Panel. If you upgrade before your trial ends, you’ll only pay for the rest of the month, and you’ll get your plan’s full monthly credits straight away.
What happens when your trial ends
- If you’ve added a card, your trial moves onto our Essential plan at £9.99/month + VAT. You can change or cancel this in your Control Panel before your trial ends.
- If you haven’t added a card, your trial ends. To keep working on your website, just choose a plan. We’ll keep a copy of your website, so you can pick up where you left off.
We’ll remind you by email before your trial ends, so it won’t creep up on you.
Build your first website, step by step
It helps to have these to hand before you start: your business name, what you do, your services and prices, your opening hours or the areas you cover, and any colours you’d like. Don’t have it all? The builder will fill gaps with example text you can change later.
- Open Launch by UK2 from your Control Panel. You’ll see a box under the words “You can just build things”. This is where you describe your website.
- Choose Plan. Click Auto at the bottom of the box and choose Plan. The builder will show you what it’s going to make before it starts. It’s the best choice for a first website.
- Describe your website and press Enter. (See the next section for tips.)
- Answer a few quick questions. The builder may ask things like how you’d like to receive messages from your contact form. Pick an answer and click Continue, or click Skip to let it decide.
- Check the plan. Happy with it? Click Yes. Want something changed? Click Not yet and tell it what to change.
- Wait while it builds. How long it takes depends on what you’ve asked for. Under your message there’s a credits number: if it keeps going up, the builder is still busy. Click Enable on the notification bar if you’d like to be told when it’s done.
- Take a look. Your website appears on the right. On the left, the builder explains what it’s made, including anything it filled in with example text, like a phone number or reviews.
- Check it on a phone. Click the screen icon above the preview and choose Mobile.
That’s it: you’ve got a website. Swap any example text for your real details, make any changes you’d like, then publish it when you’re ready.
How to describe your website
The more you tell the builder, the closer your first version will be to what you want. That means fewer changes later, which saves credits.
Try to include:
- Your business name and what you do
- Where you’re based, or the areas you cover
- The look you’d like: colours and style (friendly, bold, simple, calm)
- The pages and sections you need: services, prices, reviews, a gallery, a contact form
- Your real details: prices, opening hours, headlines
- “Use UK English”, so you get colour rather than color
A good example
Build a website for Fern & Fade, a friendly hair salon in Brighton. Modern, calm look in forest green and soft white. Include our services with prices (women’s cut and finish £45, men’s cut £25, colour from £65), meet the team, reviews, opening hours and a form for appointment requests. Use UK English.
Something short like “Make me a website for my hair salon” will still work. You’ll just spend more time, and credits, making changes afterwards.
Auto, Plan or Build?
You’ll find these options at the bottom of the box where you type.
| Option | What happens | Best for |
| Plan | You see a plan first, and the builder waits for your OK | Your first website, or big changes |
| Auto | The builder decides how to approach it | Everyday changes |
| Build | The builder gets straight to work | Quick, simple changes |
Other ways to get started
- Talk instead of type. Click the microphone and describe your website out loud.
- Add photos or files. Click +, then Upload from device. Your logo, photos of your work, or a menu or price list all help.
- Sketch it. Click +, then Create in Canvas to draw a rough layout and send it to the builder.
Making changes
Your first version is just a starting point, and changing it is easy. There are two ways to do it.
Ask the builder
Type what you’d like changed, just like before. Be specific:
- Instead of: “Make it look better”
- Try: “Make the buttons bigger and change the reviews background to light grey”
Asking for several changes in one message is quicker, and uses fewer credits than asking one at a time.
Change it yourself
Use the toolbar at the bottom of your website preview:
- Edit design: click any part of your page to change it, or click Site styles to change fonts and colours across your whole website. Click Save when you’re done.
- T: click any outlined text and type your new wording. Great for small tweaks like a phone number.
- Pen: draw on the page to show the builder what you mean, then describe the change.
- Speech bubble: leave a note on part of the page.
Changed your mind? Go back
The builder saves a version of your website each time it makes changes, so nothing is ever lost.
- Under any of the builder’s replies, click Restore this version to go back to how your website was at that point.
- Or click the clock icon next to your website’s name to see every version, newest first. You can preview a version in a new tab before you restore it.
Restoring changes your website’s design and content. It doesn’t touch information your website has collected, like bookings or contact form messages.
Adding your own photos, files and extras
Your own photos and logo make a website feel like yours. There are three easy ways to add them.
- Add a file to your message. Click +, then Upload from device, then tell the builder what to do with it, like “Use this as my logo”. You can add images, documents, audio or video. A menu or price list works well: the builder can read it and use the details.
- Upload to Assets. Click the three dots on the toolbar, then Assets, and drag your files in. Assets is where all your website’s images and files live, including any the builder made for you.
- Swap an image on the page. Click Edit design, click the image, then Replace image to upload your own, or Generate with AI to have the builder create one.
No photos yet? No problem. When you build a new website, the builder may offer stock photos or AI-created images, and you can swap them for your own later.
Extra tools
Click + then Use skill, or just type /, to see a list of extra tools the builder can use. A few of the most useful:
| Tool | What it does |
| Compliance | Adds a privacy policy and cookie notice |
| Stock photos | Finds stock photos for your website |
| Images | Creates or edits images with AI |
| Favicon | Creates the small icon shown in the browser tab |
| Transactional emails | Sets up emails like booking confirmations |
| Translations | Adds other languages to your website |
| Design improvement | Tidies up the layout and look |
| Recreate website | Uses a website you like as inspiration |
You don’t have to use these. Ask for something in plain English, and the builder will usually pick the right tool for you.
Moving from Lovable?
If you’ve built something with Lovable, click +, then Import from Lovable to bring it across.
Credits explained
Credits are what the builder uses to do work for you, a bit like data on a phone plan. Every time you ask it to do something, it uses a little.
- Your balance is shown next to the box where you type.
- What each message used is shown under each of the builder’s replies.
What uses credits
Anything where the builder does the work: building a new website, making changes you ask for, and fixing SEO issues with AI. A big job, like a whole website with a booking system, uses more than a small change, like updating your phone number. The more detail and features involved, the more credits it uses.
Some things are free, like changing text yourself with the T tool, SEO checks, and your first security check on each website.
Your monthly allowance
Every plan comes with a monthly allowance of credits, which refreshes every month (yearly plans too). Unused credits don’t carry over. On the free trial, you get 500,000 credits for your trial.
Top-ups
Run out before your allowance refreshes? Buy a top-up in your Control Panel.
| Top-up | Price |
| 1 million credits | £4.99 + VAT |
| 3 million credits | £13.49 + VAT |
| 5 million credits | £19.99 + VAT |
Top-up credits last 60 days, and only work on the package you buy them for. If you find yourself topping up regularly, a bigger plan usually works out better value.
If you run out
Your website stays live, and visitors can still use it. You just can’t ask the builder for changes until your credits refresh, or you top up or change plan.
Make your credits go further
- Give lots of detail in your first message.
- Ask for several changes in one message.
- Choose Plan for bigger changes, so you can check before it starts.
- Change small bits of wording yourself with the T tool.
- Stop a build that’s going wrong: while the builder is working, the send arrow becomes a stop button.
- Leave the AI model on Default in Settings. It gives you the best balance of quality, speed and credits.
Publishing your website
Until you publish, only you can see your website, unless you share a preview link. Publishing puts it online so anyone can visit it. You’ll need a plan to publish: on the free trial, clicking Publish takes you to choose one.
Before you publish
- Swap any example text for your real details. The builder’s summary tells you what to replace.
- Check how it looks on a phone.
- Run a security check. Your first one on each website is free.
- Check how you’ll look in Google in the SEO tool.
How to publish
- Click Publish in the top-right corner. This opens a panel first, so nothing goes live yet.
- Check the details: your web address, who can see your website (anyone, or password protected), and a quick look at security.
- Click Publish at the bottom of the panel. Your website is live.
A green dot on the Publish button shows your website is live. You can keep making changes in the builder as normal; visitors won’t see them until you click Publish again.
Your web address and your own domain
Your website starts on a web address ending in .uk2sites.com. To use your own domain, like yourbusiness.co.uk, open Settings in the builder, click the Domains tab, then click Add domain. This takes you to your Control Panel to connect it. Don’t have a domain yet? You can search for one on our website.
The “Made with AI” badge
You can choose whether your published website shows a small “Made with AI in UK2” badge. Find it in Settings.
Getting found: SEO and visitor stats
Launch has built-in tools to help people find your website in Google, and to show you who’s visiting. SEO (search engine optimisation) just means making your website easier for search engines to find and understand.
How you’ll look in Google
Click the three dots on the toolbar, then SEO. Under Search Appearance you can see how each page will look in Google, and click Edit to change it:
- Title: the blue headline in Google. Aim for 30 to 60 characters.
- Description: the short text underneath. Aim for 50 to 160 characters.
- Social Media Preview: the picture people see when your page is shared on social media.
You can also set the small icon shown in the browser tab, and a social sharing image for your whole website. The builder can create these for you.
Your SEO score
Once your website is published, the SEO tool checks it and gives it a score out of 100. It looks at things like your page titles, your content, how quickly your website loads, and how easily AI tools like ChatGPT can read it.
Under Issues to fix you’ll see what to improve, explained in plain English. Click Fix with AI to have the builder sort it, then publish again and re-run the check to see your new score. The check itself is free; fixing issues with AI uses credits.
A higher score helps, but no tool can guarantee where you’ll appear in Google.
See who’s visiting
Once your website is published, click the bar chart icon on the toolbar to see your visitor stats: page views, visitors, how long people stay, your most viewed pages, where visitors came from, and which countries and devices they use.
Keeping your website secure
Launch can check your website for common security problems, explain anything it finds in plain English, and fix it for you. Your first check on each website, and the fixes it makes, are free. After that, each check uses credits, and how many depends on the size of your website.
As your first check is free, the best time to run it is just before you publish, when your website is finished.
What it checks
- Pages and forms where visitors type things in
- Sign-in and access to private areas
- Passwords, keys and personal information
- Your website’s data and any connected services, like payments
How to run a check
- Click the three dots on the toolbar, then Security.
- Click Check my app.
- Carry on working while it runs.
When it’s done, you’ll see anything worth reviewing, each with a risk level and a plain-English explanation of what could happen and who could be affected. Click Fix to have the builder fix what it can, then publish again so the fixes reach your visitors.
It’s a helpful check done by AI. It isn’t a professional security test, or a guarantee that your website is completely secure.
Taking payments and bookings
Your website can take bookings and card payments, like deposits for appointments or payments for products. Payments are handled by Stripe, a well-known payment company.
Adding payments
Just ask the builder, in the same way you’d ask for anything else. For example:
Add an online booking page where customers choose a service, a date and a time, and pay a £10 deposit.
You can include this in your first description, or ask for it later.
Test it first
The builder sets payments up in test mode to start with, so you can try your checkout without anyone being charged. Go through your checkout in the preview using Stripe’s test card: 4242 4242 4242 4242, any future expiry date, and any three-digit security code. Test payments aren’t real, and no money changes hands.
Taking real payments
When you’re happy everything works, you’ll need your own verified Stripe account and a published website. Stripe charges a fee on each payment: see Stripe’s website for their current fees.
Bookings and orders made through your website are saved with it. You can ask the builder to show them to you, or to set up a private page where you can see them.
What it can and can’t do
Launch builds websites and web apps that open in a web browser. That covers a lot more than you might expect.
What you can build
- Websites for your business, from a single page to several pages
- Contact and enquiry forms
- Booking systems, where customers pick a date and time
- Online payments and deposits
- Photo galleries, reviews, menus and price lists
- Websites in more than one language, and user accounts with sign-in
- Simple online tools, like calculators, quote forms or business dashboards
What it isn’t designed for
- Apps you download from the App Store or Google Play
- Software you install on a computer
- Large, complex systems for big organisations
Things to check yourself
Launch is clever, but it’s still AI, so it can get things wrong. Before you publish:
- Check your details. Make sure prices, opening hours and contact details are right.
- Replace example text. If you didn’t give it reviews or a phone number, it adds example ones so you can see the layout.
- Check any claims. Add things like awards or trade body memberships yourself, rather than relying on the builder.
Plans and pricing
Every plan includes the full builder, hosting and SSL, connecting your own domain, SEO tools, visitor stats, Stripe payments, security checks and 24/7 live chat support. Plans differ in how many websites you can build, how many credits you get each month, and how much data you can store.

Common questions
Do I need any design or tech skills?
No. You describe what you want in your own words, and the builder does the rest.
How long does it take to build a website?
It depends on what you ask for: a website with more pages and features takes longer than a small change. If the credits number under your message keeps going up, the builder is still working.
What if my build seems stuck?
If the credits number hasn’t changed for a while, refresh the page (you won’t lose anything), check whether the builder has asked you a question, or type “Please carry on where you left off”. Still stuck? Our Support Team can help, 24/7.
Can anyone see my website before I publish it?
Only if you share it. You can send a preview link to a colleague or client, but otherwise only you can see your website until you publish it.
Why has it made up a phone number or reviews?
If you didn’t give those details, the builder adds example text so you can see how the page will look. Swap in your real details before you publish.
I don’t like what it’s built. What can I do?
Tell the builder what you’d like to be different, or go back to an earlier version. You can also start a fresh website from the builder’s home page.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. You only need a card when you choose a plan.
What happens to my website when my trial ends?
If you’ve added a card, your trial moves onto Essential at £9.99/month + VAT. If not, your trial ends, and you’ll need a plan to keep working on your website. We’ll keep a copy of it, so you can pick up where you left off.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, once you’re on a plan. Add it in the builder’s Settings, under Domains.
What happens if I run out of credits?
Your website stays live. You can wait for your monthly credits to refresh, buy a top-up, or change plan.
Can I take payments?
Yes, through Stripe. You’ll need your own verified Stripe account to take real payments.
