*This article applies to all CHI Shared Hosting and Reseller services.

This article was created to assist you in uploading files to your hosting account. The easiest and most preferred method for uploading files is to use an FTP Client.

Step 1: Choose an FTP Client

First you will need to find an FTP client. A popular (and free) FTP client is “FileZilla”.

Step 2: Download the client

Follow the link and click on the “Download FileZilla Client”: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

Step 3: Open the client

When the download is complete click on the “FileZilla” file.

Step 4: Run the client

In the popup window click on “Run”.

Step 5:  In the "Host" field, enter your domain name.

Step 6: In the "Username" field, enter your cPanel username.

Step 7:  In the "Password" field, enter your cPanel password.

(Can’t remember your cPanel password? Click Here.)

Step 8: Leave port set at "21", or if you leave it blank 21 will be default.

Step 9: Click "Quick Connect".

The LEFT side shows the files on your PC. The RIGHT side shows the file on your server.

Step 10: Select the Root for your website.

Double-click the "public_html/" or the "www/" folder on the RIGHT side. This is the "root" of your website. Simply find the files you want to upload on the LEFT side of the screen and drag them to the RIGHT side of the screen. This will then upload the files to your website.
