Getting online just got easier: what’s new in your UK2 Website Builder and Online Shop
We’ve been quietly shipping a run of improvements to the UK2 Website Builder and Online Shop, and it’s time we told you about them. The headline is simple: getting a site online is far easier than it used to be. Here’s what has changed, and how to make the most of it.
Getting online is far easier
If the hardest part of building a website has always been the blank page, that is the bit we have fixed.
A new AI-powered onboarding flow does the heavy lifting at the start. Answer a few simple questions about your business and it builds you a real, structured starting site in minutes, with pages, layout and starter content included, ready for you to refine rather than create from scratch.
Setting up on your phone is just as quick. The new mobile onboarding feels less like wrestling with software and more like setting up a social account, so you can get going wherever you are.
Running a shop? You can now add a sample product while you set up, so you can see exactly how your store will look before you add any real stock.

More freedom to design
Once you’re in, you have far more control over how your site looks.
Precision Layout gives you pro-level design control. Move, overlap, stretch and place any element exactly where you want it, rather than being boxed in by rigid templates.
We’ve added a batch of fresh fonts, font pairings and colour palettes, so you can refresh the whole look of your site in minutes and keep it on-brand.
And to save you time, Saved Sections let you store your best work and reuse it across pages, while one-click section duplication means you can repeat a layout instantly. Consistent, professional pages, with far less fiddling.
Built to help you sell
For shop owners, a few updates are aimed squarely at selling more.
AI product descriptions turn a single photo into a polished, ready-to-publish description. Upload an image and you have copy that sells, without staring at a blank field.
We’ve expanded the ways you can get paid, too. The shop now supports Stripe Elements, so you can accept a wider range of payment methods and make checkout smoother for your customers.
And to help people actually find your products, you can now customise the SEO on individual product pages, giving each one a better shot at ranking on Google.

See it for yourself
All of this is live in your account now. The quickest way to see it is to log in and start a new site, or open your existing one and have a look around the editor.
We’ll keep building. More to come soon.
