How To Use The MySQL Database Wizard


What is the MySQL Database Wizard?

MySQL Database Wizard is a cPanel option that makes it easier and quicker to create a MySQL database and database user than by doing it manually using the MySQL Databases option in cPanel.

How do I access the MySQL Database Wizard?

**Please change all references of yourdomain.co.uk to your domain.**

You will first need to log in to your cPanel, usually found at http://yourdomain.co.uk/cpanel. Once you have logged in you will need to go to the Databases section and click on the MySQL Database Wizard link.

The Wizard screen should appear as follows:

How do I use the MySQL Database Wizard?

STEP 1: In the New Database field, enter a name for the database.
STEP 2: Click Next Step.
STEP 3: In the Username field, enter a name for the user allowed to manage the database.

STEP 4: In the Password field, type the user’s password.

  • The password must be 7 letters or shorter.
  • For help generating a strong password, click the Password Generator button.

STEP 5: Retype the password in the Password (Again) field.
STEP 6: Click Create User.
STEP 7: Select the privileges you wish to grant the user, or select ALL PRIVILEGES.

STEP 8: Click Next Step.

Next, cPanel will display a message stating that the database and user account were successfully set up.
