Credits and top-ups
Credits are what the builder uses to do work for you. Think of them a bit like data on a phone plan: every time you ask the builder to do something, it uses a little.
Your balance is shown next to the box where you type, for example 9.5M (9.5 million).
What each message used is shown under each of the builder’s replies, for example -28.6k (28,600 credits).
Anything where the builder does the work for you uses credits, such as:
Building a new website
Making changes you ask for in the chat
Fixing SEO issues with AI, and any security checks after your first one
Some things are free:
Your first security check on each website, and the fixes it makes (see [Security checks])
Changing text yourself using the T tool (see [How to build your first website with Launch by UK2])
Why some requests use more credits than others
There’s no fixed price per request. A big job, like building a whole website with a booking system, uses more than a small change, like updating your phone number.
As a guide, a full first website might use around 80,000 credits, and a small change a few thousand.
The AI model also makes a difference. You’ll find this in Settings (the cog icon). Default gives you the best balance of quality, speed and credits, so we recommend leaving it as it is.
The AI model list in Settings
Your plan comes with a monthly allowance of credits, which refreshes every month. This is the same on yearly plans. Unused credits don’t carry over.
On the free trial? Your trial comes with 500,000 credits. When you choose a plan, you’ll get your plan’s monthly allowance instead.
If you run out before your allowance refreshes, you can buy a top-up from your Control Panel.
Top-up | Price |
1 million credits | £4.99 + VAT |
3 million credits | £13.49 + VAT |
5 million credits | £19.99 + VAT |
Good to know:
Top-up credits last 60 days.
They only work on the package you buy them for. If you have more than one builder package, buy the top-up for the one you want to use it on.
Your website stays live, and visitors can still use it. You just can’t ask the builder for changes until your credits refresh, or you top up or upgrade.
Give lots of detail in your first message.
Ask for several changes in one message, not one at a time.
Change small bits of wording yourself with the T tool.
