Getting started in the builder
Getting started in the builder
New to Launch by UK2, our AI website builder? Here’s a quick tour, so you know where everything is.
You open the builder from your Control Panel. See [How to order and access the builder].
The first time you open it, you may see a box asking you to set up your workspace. This is just a name and contact email for your account, which the builder uses for things like email notifications from your website. You can fill it in now, or click Maybe later.
On the free trial? Your trial lasts 30 days. You can build and preview your website as much as you like, but you’ll need a plan to publish it. When your trial ends, you’ll need a plan to keep working on your website. We’ll keep a copy of it, so you can pick up where you left off.
This is where you start every new website.
The builder home page
The box in the middle is where you describe a new website. See [How to build your first website with Launch by UK2].
Chats shows everything you’ve started, including websites you haven’t published yet.
Published Apps shows websites that are live.
Search helps you find a website if you’ve made a few.
When you open a website, the screen is split in two.
A website open in the builder
On the left is your chat with the builder. This is where you ask for changes.
On the right is the preview: your website as it looks right now. Only you can see it until you publish.
Above the preview there’s a row of icons. You won’t need all of them, but here’s what they do:
Icon | What it’s for |
Clock (next to the website name) | Your version history. Go back to an earlier version of your website |
Square | Shows your website preview |
Bar chart | Visitor stats, once your website is published |
Cog | Settings for this website |
Three dots | More tools, including SEO, Security and Assets (your images and files) |
The three dots menu also has Code, Database and MCP. These are for more technical users. You don’t need them to build a website.
The three dots menu
Tip: Click the pin next to any tool in the three dots menu to keep it on the toolbar.
In the top-right corner you’ll also find Share and Publish. See [How to publish your site].
Click the cog to open Settings. The most useful options are:
Name: rename your website. Only you see this name.
AI model: which AI the builder uses. We recommend leaving this on Default. See [Credits and top-ups].
UK2 AI disclosure badge: choose whether your published website shows a small “Made with AI in UK2” badge.
Sharing: keep your project private, or let anyone with the link view it.
Delete Chat: delete this website and its chat.
