SEO and Visitor Stats
SEO and visitor stats
The builder has tools to help people find your website in Google, and to show you who’s visiting.
SEO stands for search engine optimisation. It just means making your website easier for search engines like Google to find and understand.
Open the SEO tool
Click the three dots on the toolbar, then SEO.
How you’ll look in Google
Under Search Appearance you can see how each page of your website will look in Google search results.
The SEO tool before publishing
To change it, click Edit next to a page:
Title: the blue headline in Google. Aim for 30 to 60 characters.
Description: the short text underneath. Aim for 50 to 160 characters.
Social Media Preview: how the page looks when someone shares it on social media. Click Add Image to choose a picture.
Click Save Changes when you’re done.
Editing how a page looks in Google
Under Site assets you can also set your App Icon (the small icon in the browser tab) and a Social Media Image for your whole website. Click Generate to have the builder create them for you.
Check your SEO score
Once your website is published, the SEO tool checks it for you and gives it a score out of 100.
An SEO health score
The score is made up of a few areas:
Area | What it means |
Meta tags | Your page titles and descriptions |
Content | The words on your pages |
Technical | Behind-the-scenes things that help Google read your website |
Social sharing | How your pages look when shared on social media |
Structured data | Hidden labels that tell Google what your business is, like your opening hours |
AI readiness | How easily AI tools like ChatGPT can read your website |
Performance | How quickly your website loads |
Under Issues to fix there’s a list of things to improve. Click any issue to see what it means and which page it’s on.
An SEO issue explained
To fix it, click Fix with AI, or Fix all with AI to fix everything at once. When you’ve made changes, publish again and click Re-run audit to see your new score.
Good to know: A higher score helps, but no tool can guarantee where you’ll appear in Google.
See who’s visiting
Once your website is published, click the bar chart icon on the toolbar to see your visitor stats.
Visitor stats
You can see:
Page views: how many times your pages have been looked at
Visits and Visitors: how many visits you’ve had, and how many different people
Visit duration: how long people stay
Bounce rate: the share of visitors who leave after looking at just one page
Most viewed pages and Referrers (the websites people came from)
Countries and Devices (which browsers and phones people use)
Visitors by country and device
Click Last 30 days to look at a different time period.
