What the Builder Can and Can’t Do
What the Builder Can and Can’t Do
Launch by UK2, our AI website builder, can do a lot more than you might expect. Here’s what it’s good at, a few extra tools you might not have spotted, and the things it isn’t designed for.
How it works
You describe what you want in your own words.
It plans the work. If you choose Plan, it shows you the plan first and waits for your OK.
It builds your website, writing the pages, adding images and setting up anything like forms or bookings.
It checks its own work. For example, it fills in your contact form to make sure it works, and checks your website on a phone screen.
It tells you what it’s done, including anything it’s filled in with example text for you to replace.
What you can build
Websites for your business, from a single page to several pages
Contact and enquiry forms
Booking systems, where customers pick a date and time
Online payments and deposits (see [Taking payments with Stripe])
Photo galleries, reviews, menus and price lists
Websites in more than one language
Simple online tools, like calculators or quote forms
Extra tools: Use skill
Click + next to the box where you type, then Use skill (or just type /). You’ll see a list of extra tools the builder can use.
The Use skill list
Some of the most useful ones:
Skill | What it does |
Compliance | Adds a privacy policy and cookie notice |
Stock photos | Finds stock photos for your website |
Images | Creates or edits images with AI |
Favicon | Creates the small icon shown in the browser tab |
Transactional emails | Sets up emails like booking confirmations |
Translations | Adds other languages to your website |
Design improvement | Tidies up the layout and look of your website |
Recreate website | Uses a website you like as inspiration for yours |
Security check | Checks your website for security problems |
You don’t have to use skills. If you ask for something in plain English, the builder will usually pick the right one for you.
Show it what you mean: Create in Canvas
Sometimes it’s easier to draw what you want than describe it. Click +, then Create in Canvas to open a drawing board.
Canvas, ready to sketch on
Sketch a rough layout, add text, notes, shapes or pictures, then click Export to chat to send it to the builder with your message.
Moving from Lovable?
If you’ve built something with Lovable, click +, then Import from Lovable to bring it across.
What it can’t do
The builder makes websites and web apps that open in a web browser. It can’t make:
Apps you download from the App Store or Google Play
Software you install on a computer
Large, complex systems for big organisations
Things to check yourself
The builder is clever, but it’s still AI, so it can get things wrong. Before you publish:
Check your details. Make sure prices, opening hours and contact details are right.
Replace example text. If you didn’t give it reviews or a phone number, it adds example ones so you can see the layout.
Check any claims. The builder won’t add things like trade body memberships or awards unless you tell it to, so add those yourself.
